No, never.
Yes, but only one day a month or less.
Yes, about once a week.
Yes, several times a week.
Yes, just about every day.
I do once or twice a month, mainly to test the casino rooms and how friendly they are to use.
I do gamble but not very often, once or twice a month. Sometimes I can spend weeks or months without gambling.
Mainly sports bets, I have few accounts, made small deposits and it happened that I even forget I had some bucks left until I log back in weeks or months after.
I got caught up at Casinoluck and Doublestar gambling some of my earnings on slots before I withdraw the rest. I don't really mind because I just round up the amount to withdraw and leave few pennies to play with however I kind of think that these groups pay affiliates in players account in hope for us to gamble away our earnings.
In order to be successful in the industry you have to know it inside out and in order to understand it you have to try the services.
Trying the service it does not mean that you have to gamble but you have to place bets or play some rounds in casino.
By placing a bet it does not mean you are a gambler. It is part of our everyday work

Being successful in this industry has nothing to do with gambling, being successful as an affiliate of any niche is knowing how to drive traffic to your site and convert them into sales. You could gamble 24 hours a day but if you don't know anything about driving traffic through SEO, PPC, Social or Media Buys then you wont be very successful at all.
DaftDog has made a good point,
I am not so sure I would want to get prescriptions in a pharmacy where those working there did personal reviews of most of their products......

Pharmacy and Gambling are totally different things. The example does not apply
I have seen affiliates and operators that have no knowledge and this is really annoying after some period as it requires a lot of time to explain simple things.
Anyway, everyone has its own views
just sports betting sometimes

I have to agree with Ioannis
Final customers of both casinos and affiliates are players. And they play games and sometimes redeem bonuses. You need to know at least basic things about the products you're "selling" to your final customers. How else will you understand what they want and need?
It's important to have marketing or/and SEO skills, but also to know what are you talking about on your website, especially if you're writing your own content or as and affiliate manager, creating promotions and other campaigns.
Because the best perspective of understanding your customers is to be able to identify yourself with them. Asking yourself what would my visitors/members want, finds the best answer in thinking What would I want as a player?
I'm just a pusher, not a user.
I do gamble occasionally. The last time I gamble with sports betting was for UFC/MMA, usually main event. Just for fun too.
I also play slot machines sometimes, or roulette whenever I go to casino. I do know some casino games but I am not a big time gambler.
I just do gambling for thrill and entertainment.
You do not to be big gambler but you need to know what is Blackjack, roulette, livebetting, how bonus is working, the bonus terms and much more. If you do not use them it is difficult to understand if someone only explains you
I am practical guy not a theoretical
I also have to agree with Ioannis on this one.
When you know a product inside out and it much easier as well to produce content. Knowing how to optimize it and all the other things behind the scene to drive traffic will go along with the first statement to be a successful affiliate.
Now I am not saying that not gambling means you can properly advertising your site or drive traffic, however, you will sell yourself and your content better when you know the product. This way, you can have people "referring, talking or linking" to you as you seem or know more than them.
At the end of the day, writing a review and adding a personal experience or/and opinion is much better than a robotic one with vague facts because its found on the How To.

I do mate it would be hard to engage with a gambling audience if you didn't. I play poker more than anything else, but I also play pokies, blackjack, roulette, a bit of sports betting, or whatever I am in the mood for (which excludes bingo lol).
For a big part I agree with this. For people with some experience it's easy to see the difference between a review written by someone that actually played in online casino's and knows how they're working and some one that is just writing without any experience or knowledge about the things he/she's writing about.
But... I guess somebody who really understands gambling, won't spend too much money in online slot games or games like American Roulette...
